چکیده
Landslides that occur near residential regions are most commonly a result of shallow slope failure, which takes place as consequence heavy rainfall during the monsoon season, causing loss to human life and property. In this study, characteristics volumetric water content (VWC) gradient were analyzed predict failure was reproduced based on flume experiments performed at various conditions. The VWC values calculated for each measurement position depth. Moreover, occurrence nonoccurrence failures compared those an actual site did not undergo failure. Our results show probability increases with increase in value. Additionally, early warning criteria proposed by dividing range value into four stages rate rapidly increased. Full-scale simulate terms its scale, appropriate sensor installation positions effectively

Variables Characteristics Effects on Static and Pseudo-Static Reliability-Based Design of near Slope Shallow Foundations
Given the concept of reliability-based design (RBD) and the growing risk management trend in geotechnical engineering, proper understanding and quantification of uncertainties are very important. The complexity of methods and a large volume of calculations of probabilistic design methods are the most critical reasons for civil engineers not to be comfortable using these approaches. In this rese...

A form of the weak temperature gradient (WTG) approximation, in which the temperature tendency and advection terms are neglected in the temperature equation so that the equation reduces to a diagnostic balance between heating and vertical motion, is applied to a two-dimensional nonlinear shallow-water model with the heating (mass source) parameterized as a Newtonian relaxation on the temperatur...
متن کاملInfluence of modeling material on undercut slope failure mechanism
A series of physical modeling tests were conducted by means of a beam type geotechnical centrifuge machine in order to investigate the drainage impact on the slope failure mechanism under centrifugal acceleration. Meanwhile, the phenomenon of stress redistribution in undercut slopes and the formation of arching effect were studied. For this purpose, a poorly graded sandy soil (Silica sand No. 6...

متن کاملPREDICTION OF SLOPE STABILITY STATE FOR CIRCULAR FAILURE: A HYBRID SUPPORT VECTOR MACHINE WITH HARMONY SEARCH ALGORITHM
The slope stability analysis is routinely performed by engineers to estimate the stability of river training works, road embankments, embankment dams, excavations and retaining walls. This paper presents a new approach to build a model for the prediction of slope stability state. The support vector machine (SVM) is a new machine learning method based on statistical learning theory, which can so...
